PSITTACUS® PARROT Hand Feeding Formula
PSITTACUS® PARROT Hand Feeding Formula is a versatile formula for hand-rearing common parrot species like Ring-necked and Asiatic Parakeets, Conures, Quaker Parakeets, and Australian parrots (except cockatoos). Not suitable for species with high-fat requirements or species belonging to the family Cacatuidae (cockatoos) and the tribe Loriini (lories and lorikeets).
It is especially indicated for use from pin feather emergence until weaning. It is formulated to constitute 100 % of the baby bird’s daily diet during that period. This will help ensure your baby bird will get all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to support growth. PSITTACUS® Parrot Hand Feeding contains the vitamins, minerals, and amino acids needed for your baby bird’s health, and thus, no other vitamins or supplements must be offered.
Contains oil with a high oleic acid content, stable and adapted to their needs. It also contains papaya, which promotes digestive transit.
HOW TO USE:
Mix with lukewarm water (98-102ºF) at a concentration of 20-25% (similar to the texture of shaken yoghurt or a smoothie). The average intake is around 7-10 ml per 100 g of body weight, and feeding about. The number of feeding bouts per day depends on the chick's development stage. The crop should be full but not overstuffed. Confirm that the crop is empty in the morning. Leftover formula must be discarded after each feeding. It is advisable to use a first-age hand feeding formula for younger birds (PSITTACUS Psittacine Crop Milk or PSITTACUS Neonatal hand feeding, depending on the age of the chick). At weaning, switch progressively to PSITTACUS High Protein Breeding, Mini or Minor daily diet (depending on the bird species). No vitamin or mineral supplements should be given to parrots whose staple food is PSITTACUS daily diets. Once the package is opened, store it in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.
